Good news for US citizens eager to see Cuba and benefit on the great travel packages available to top beach resorts in this country like Varadero Beach. From today, 28 March 2010, take place discussions in the popular Mexican tourist resort Cancun between US and Cuban officials! The subject is referring to the possibility that the actual travel restrictions valid to US citizens be lifted, opening in this way the doors toward the splendid resort hotels settled in the province of Matanzas, at about 120 kilometers to the capital city of Havana.
At the The U.S - Cuba Travel Summit the main discussions are led by Lisa Simon, NTA President, and U.S. Tour Operators Association President Bob Whitley. Simon declared "I am thrilled with the caliber and diversity of attendants for the summit. It will make for some stimulating dialogue on a market that represents great potential for U.S. travel professionals". Actually, the problem is represented by Peterson-Moran bill (HR4645) and the Freedom to Travel to Cuba Act (S428), which include travel restrictions preventing Americans or American companies from going to Cuba. The perspectives are very good because it seems that Senator Bryan Dorgan, sponsor of S428, will discuss into a teleconference the proposed legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate to allow Americans traveling to Cuba!
Hopefully, the new dialogue between US and the Caribbean country will "unfroze" the Cuban travel market to American tour operators, allowing in this way to a large number of holiday makers from USA to visit Cuba and take advantage on the excellent vacation deals and all inclusive packages offered by high class hotels settled on the wonderful beaches in top resorts like Varadero, Cayo Coco and Cayo Largo.
