It is even today the world's most massive bridge with steel arches, the highest point being at about 440 feet (130 meters) above the harbor level. 1,400 men were needed to complete the imposing structure, 16 died at the construction site as it took a lot of skill and courage to work at the top! "The Rocks" located at the foot of the bridge, are nowadays included into a premier tourist area since this spot is considered the birthplace of Sydney. There are many galleries, restaurants, coffee shops, and other entertainment options in the whole bridge zone. Along with hanging around and visiting the focal points of interest, the bravest visitors can try the popular bridge climbing. For a fee they are escorted to the top of the construction through catwalks and narrow paths, however the magnificent sights are worth the effort - from this height can be admired amazing views of the harbor and this part of the city. These activities are organized during the day, but also at night, to offer even more breathtaking panoramas of the lighting city!
